Bem… se calhar nós raparigas será um pouco diferente, se bem que eu não me importava nada de receber algumas destas coisinhas, mas vamos focar-nos nas prendas para o namorado super geek! Bem e quem diz namorado ou namorada diz amigo ou amiga… Bem… vocês entenderam a ideia!

Well… Maybe for us, girls, the list would be a little different… I mean I wouldn’t mind receiving any of these gifts but, for now, let’s focus on the super geek boyfriend! Well… and you could this for your girlfriend… or friends in generel… Well, you get the idea!

Camisola com stencil | Stencil T-shirt

O meu namorado queria muito uma Nerd Block ou uma Loot Crate mas essas caixas eram um pouco caras para a altura em que eu estava sem trabalho. Então decidi fazer uma Nerd Box DIY cheia de coisinhas boas que sabia que ele ia gostar! Foi a minha prenda de Natal.

My boyfriend wanted a Nerd Block or a Loot Crate but this monthly subscription box were a little expensive for me at the time. I decided to create my own Nerd Box with DIY gifts full of goodies I knew he’d like. This was a Christmas gift.

Esta T-shirt, com o Jotaro de Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, foi uma das prendas que meti na caixa. É bastante simples de fazer e bastante barato! Comprei a camisola na Primark e depois imprimi a imagem da net, em A2. Recortei (o que deu imenso trabalho porque a imagem do Jotaro tinha imensos pormenores) e, com tinta de spray preta (comprei da mais barata também) pintei por cima. Fica a secar +-12h e está feito! Se a quiseres lavar na máquina convém ir sozinha a primeira vez. Depois já pode ser lavada com outra roupa.

This t-shirt, with Jotaro from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, was one of the gifts featured on that box. It was very simple and cheap! I bought it at Primark and then I printed the image, in A2 format. I cut the shape (this was the most difficult part because it had a lot of small shapes) and then I painted it with a Black Ink Spray (again, it was really cheap). I let it dry for about 12 hours and it’s done! If you want to wash it, it’s better that the t-shirt goes alone the first time. After that it can be washed with other clothes.

Peluches em lã | Wool Plushies

Estes bonecos foram feitos com a técnica de Feltragem e é algo que me apaixona fazer. Gosto de oferecer aos meus amigos, à minha mãe, ao meu namorado, etc e tento procurar as coisinhas que eles gostam mais! Tenho feito um Pokemon por mês. Estes foram os que fiz até agora! Três Pokemons, dois coelhos e um Poro! Apesar de ao inicio demorar imenso tempo a completar os projectos vale imenso a pena. Após alguns projectos começa-se a ganhar prática e é bastante simples! Estas prendas também ficam muito em conta porque gasta-se pouca lã e esta já de si não é muito cara! O investimento inicial para o material desta actividade é o “pior”. (aprox. 10€)

These plushies were made using the Needle Felting technique and this is something I love doing. I like giving these to my friends, my mom, my boyfriend and I try to do thingies that they like! I’ve done a Pokemon a month. I made all these dolls ‘till now. Three Pokemons, two bunnies and a Poro! In the beginning, it takes a while to complete the projects but it’s worth it. After a couple of dolls you start getting it and it’s easier. These gifts are very cheap because you don’t use a lot of wool, and the wool itself is not very expensive. The first investment in the material for this is the “worst”. (aprox 10€)

Mapa do Salteador | The Marauders Map

Para os fãs de Harry Potter também há hipóteses! Para completar a Nerd Box, fiz também uma réplica do mapa do salteador de Harry Potter! Imprimi as planificações do DevianArt da artista Little Falling Star, ela tem lá todas as instruções para montar o mapa de forma correcta. Como ficava muito caro imprimir a cores e eu queria fazer uma réplica em escala real, imprimi a preto e branco e pintei com aguarelas por cima. Fiz as misturas e com uma esponja pintei tudo e deixei secar de um dia para o outro. Para ter a certeza que estava bem seco pus também ao sol umas horas. Depois foi só recortar e colar. Preferi usar cola quente para ter a certeza que colava logo tudo bem e direitinho! Cola batom não serve para NADA!!!

There’s gifts for the Harry Potter fans too! To complete the Nerd Box, I did a marauders map from Harry Potter! I printed the plans from Little Falling Star DeviantArt, she has all the instructions on her page. It was very expensive to print with the colors so I printed in B&W and then I painted it with watercolors. I mixed the colors and used a sponge to paint. I let it dry during a day and, to be sure, I placed it under the sunlight a couple of hours. I used hot glue because I wanted it to be glued at my first attempt! Glue sticks SUCKS!!!

Figuras com Perler Beads | Perler Beads Figures

Os Perler Beads são extremamente versáteis e dão óptimos resultados se quisermos fazer coisinhas mais retro. Estas contas de plástico fundem a uma temperatura relativamente baixa e fazem figurinhas fantásticas! Já experimentei fazer bonecos, figuras 3D e até bijuteria! (Mas isso fica para outro post!)

Perler Beads are extremely versatile and they’re a good way to do retro looking things. These plastic beads melt at a low temperature and they’re awesome to make a lot of figures! I’ve done 2D and 3D figures and jewelry! (But I’ll talk about this in another post!)

Fiz este boneco do Monokuma de Danganronpa para oferecer ao meu namorado. O único problema destas contas é que são precisas muitas para completar uma simples peça e pode tornar-se chato! Mas o resultado final compensa! Eu comprei as minhas no Ikea e foram super baratas! O contra? É que as cores vêm todas misturadas! E é preciso uma paciência enorme para as separar!

I made this Monokuma figure from Dangaronpa as a gift for my boyfriend. The only problem with these beads is that you need a lot of them to make a single figure and it can become boring! But the final result is worth it! I bought my beads at Ikea and they were super cheap! The downside? The colors are all mixed up! You have to be really patience to sort them out!

Eu gosto de forrar caixas velhas também e para forrar estas usei umas páginas que uma revista Shoujo gigante que tenho cá em casa! Apesar de eu gostar muito de mangá, esta revista está em japonês e achei interessante usar as páginas para forrar as caixas… Aliás aquela edição tem mais ou menos umas 500 páginas… não vai sentir falta de um capitulo de um dos mangás! Fiz duas caixas, uma onde guardo os meus materiais de Needle Felting e outra onde montei a Nerd Box para a prenda de Natal! Vejam lá como ficaram!

I also like to quilt old boxes and I used some pages from a huge Shoujo Magazine that I have here! Even tho I like Manga, this magazine is in Japanese and I find it interesting to use the pages to quilt the boxes… Plus, this edition has like 500 pages… it’s notgoing to miss a chapter from some Manga! I made two boxes, one where I store my Needle Felting materials and another one which I used to create the Nerd Box for the Christmas gift! Look how they turned out!
